2015 Gold SF Chronicle Wine Competition
2015 Silver Orange County Wine Competition
This wine is a testament to why Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre work so well together. The nose is treated to a complex array of red, blue and black fruits. Secondary aromas of white peppercorns and purple flowers add to the complexity. Once tasted the complexity is expanded with noted of steeped red currants, crushed blackberries and freshly pressed blueberries. Secondary aromas of shaved dark chocolate and poached winter spices add to the wine. The balance and seamless texture is a result of a hands off approach to winemaking allowing the grapes to express themselves. The high acid and soft open tannins help confirm this wines overall balance and bright seamless texture.
